About Me
My name is Luke Ruscica, and I am a UX Design student who approaches each project intending to create an experience that benefits people and communities first. I have years of experience finding solutions to all sorts of UX problems and bringing communities together.
Through my UX Design studies, I have developed experience in user-centred design processes, including user research, wireframing, prototyping, accessibility considerations, and iterative design. I recently collaborated with Wounded Warriors Canada, where our team redesigned the donation experience with the goal of making it more frictionless and engaging. I also have experience writing professionally and clearly, whether for clients or writing instructions, as well as experience in graphic design.
In addition to my academic work, my leadership and community engagement experiences have strengthened my communication and teamwork skills. As a First Year Leadership Program Advisor, I supported students through mentorship, event planning, and collaborative initiatives focused on building stronger campus communities by coordinating and leading monthly events with the students, including large-scale collaborations and a weekend-long event that required months of planning and coordination.
I also bring a strong commitment to sustainability and social change advocacy beyond the advisor position. In high school, I worked with staff to lead sustainability initiatives aimed at achieving Eco-Schools Canada certification. I played a key role in promoting an anti-idling campaign, tracking emissions data, and helping reduce pollutants by 30% over the course of the initiative. Our school ultimately exceeded its goal and achieved platinum certification.
Guided by empathy and the human experience, I hope to get the opportunity to work with you or your organization to create something special.
